Because space has rarely been placed so high on the political agenda to succeed the challenges that our planet is already facing, IAF decided to launch its first conference of its kind to focus and contribute to the global efforts to better understand and battle climate change through the use of space solutions which can contribute among others to the monitoring and maintenance of critical entities reducing the risk, exposure and vulnerability of communities and infrastructures.
The conference programme is designed to bring together governments, policy makers, academia and NGOs, as well as representatives of non-space sector, senior representatives of the major space agencies, industries, involved in the climate change debate. These leaders in the field will converge in Oslo to present results, exchange ideas, debate roadmaps, and discuss the future opportunities provided by space activities to contribute to the global climate change mitigation efforts.
